Join the Campaign

Event 1
December 2025 to July 2026 – Open to all 40K 2E players worldwide.
The games will focus on the outer planets of the Brakkar Chain Solar System, and the battles that rage across them as the Enemies of Order forces push their advance on the Defenders of the Imperium. Players can play a game of 40k 2E and submit their results to: sustainedfire.editor@gmail.com
The tallied up Victory Points will dictate the fate of the individual planets in the Brakkar Chain. If they wish the players can also submit a write up and photos. We will include these as a battle report on this website for the whole 40K 2E community to enjoy. Later on we will format them and compile them into a, free-to-download, The Siege of Brakkar Chain Book so everyone can keep a copy.

Players Pack
Download the Siege of Brakkar Chain Player Pack and get free extra game pieces to enhance your gameplay. The Player Pack includes six new missions we have created for players to try out. The new missions are not compulsory at all, they are just an incentive for players to try something new.
Game Guidelines
There is no restriction in the number of games you can play and submit across the events. You can play just one game or a series streched across both events if you like. There is no restrictions on game size. They can be as small as a 400point skirmish that you could play in an hour or so all the way a 5000 point multi day mega battle if you wish! You can just play a single game in one event or multiple games over both events, it is up to you. Typically during our Sustained Fire monthly/yearly events we play 1500points which will take three to four hours to finish and allows for plenty of troop and vehicle choices.
Gameplay Restrictions
Model proxies are fine, minis painted to at least a battlefield ready colour scheme would be preferred.
Gameplay Regions
Players from different regions of our globe will play battles that relate to the outcomes of different locations in the Brakkar Chain:
- Players from Australia will fight across Brakkar 04 in Event 1 and then across the Brakkar Prime hive city of Tarsus Magna in Event 2.
- Players from the UK & Europe will fight across Brakkar 03 in Event 1 and then across the Brakkar Prime hive city of Helstrom in Event 2.
- Players from the USA & rest of world will fight across Brakkar 02 in Event 1 and then across the Brakkar Prime hive city of Vorkath Ultima in Event 2.
Campaign Narrative
The games you play will contribute to the overall story of the campaign. After you have played a game send an email through to us at: sustainedfire.editor@gmail.com . Please include:
- Your names.
- The armies you played with.
- The region you are from (Australia / UK & Europe / USA & rest of world.)
- The missions played.
- The Victory Points of both armies.
- You are also encouraged, but not obligated, to share a write up and photos or a video of the game.
This write up can be a short summary paragraph covering the mission, victory points, and a few key moments, or a full multi-page narrative story, it’s completely up to you. Check out the “View the Battles” page for ideas from other players. Go into as much depth and detail as you like! Tell me all about how the outcome of your battle has severely hampered logistics in the local sector of Brakkar 03, or how a small outpost was overrun by Ork invaders, I’d love to hear it.
When taking photos, be sure to capture wide shots of the whole table as well as close ups of the action. Include plenty of shots from the eye level of the minis rather than looking down from above.
Players who send through photos and a write up will have their games featured on the Siege of Brakkar Chain website and in our free to download book. Of course, you can also post your write up and pictures wherever you like, it’s always nice to share your fun experiences with the wider 40K 2nd Ed community.
Write Up Restrictions
Please refrain from using any Games Workshop or White Dwarf logos or artwork in your submissions are we can’t place them on the website or in the book.
Questions and Answers
I want to play a game with two armies who are both from The Defenders of the Imperium (or both from Enemies of Order.) Is this allowed?
You will need to justify why this is happening from a narrative / fluffy sense in your write up. You can still submit your write up and I will be happy to add it to the website. If it makes sense that one of the armies is the “goodies” and one is the “baddies” then your VPs will still be added to the tally. An example of this is say Space Marines vs Imperial Guard, you could justify that the Imperial Guard army is under the influence of a powerful Chaos Sorcerer and are fighting for the Enemies of Order. If you have a battle of say Chaos fighting Orks, which is a very likely 40K situation, it would be hard to justify either of those armies as being “goodies” so your VPs won’t be able to be added to the tally. Not to say it wouldn’t make a great game though, play it anyway and send in your write up and pics!
I have just finished my write up, its really good and I want to share it with the community on social media, can I still do this?
Of course you can! By all means please share it with whoever you wish. I will still be happy to post it up on the Brakkar Chain website and add it to the book. If you are posting it up elsewhere please do add a link to the Brakkar Chain website so your friends can check out some more battle reports after they have finished reading yours. Hopefully it will inspire them to join in!
I can only play one game and won’t be able to play in both events, is this ok?
It is completely fine, you can play in either Event 1 or Event 2 or both or multiple games stretched across them. Play as many as you like and submit your results.
Do I have to use the new mission cards to join in?
No, the new mission cards are just something new for players to try out if they wish. You are welcome to use just the official GW ones or combine them with the Brakkar Chain ones, it is completely up to you.
Does it cost anything to participate?
Nope. Its all free.
Why are you doing this then?
To bring together the 2E community, have us all playing a campaign together just like in the 90s with Ichar IV. I always wanted to join in Ichar IV when I was a kid and now I get to 🙂
